Mini Clay Envelope Place Card Holders by Martha Lucia Gomez
Mini Clay Envelope Place Card Holders
by Martha Lucia Gomez
Hello dear friends, today I am sharing a tutorial to make these Mini Clay Envelopes that you can use as place card holders or as an infinite number of things! It is an easy project that doesn't require sculpting abilities just your favorite colors of Makin's Clay® and a theme inspiration. I said a theme because you can create these for your special events or for any occasion.
MAKIN’S® MATERIALS LIST
Makin’s Clay® White, Concord Blue and Adobe Brown.
Makin’s Clay® RollerMakin’s Professional® Cutting Mat
Makin’s Clay® Texture Sheets - Set H
OTHER NECESSITIES
Ann Butler Iridescents Paints
Ann Butler Iridescents Paints
Card Stock
Paper
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. On the paper, draw an envelope template. You can customize the size for your needs – my template had a center rectangle of 2″ by 1 1/4″, and the top/bottom flaps extended out 3/4″ and the sides extended 7/8″.
2. Take an amount of the color of your preference of Makin’s Clay®. In my project I am using Blue, Adobe Brown and White. Smooth with your hands and use the Makin’s Clay® Roller to create an uniform layer.
4. If you want, you can create a special texture on the upper flap of your envelope. With this in mind I used the one of the sheet included on the Makin’s Clay® Texture Sheets - Set H. I just needed to press this on the fresh clay.
5. After this, fold the two sides in, and then the bottom flap on top. Press the overlapping pieces together and use a little bit of water to smooth any roughness.
7. Repeat this process with the other colors of Makin’s Clay®.
8. Let them dry completely for 24 hours. Paint the envelopes as desired. I used Ann Buttler Iridescents in Sheer tones.
9. Cut small pieces of card stock for the place cards inside and if you want you can stamp or write the
name on the cards.
name on the cards.
I hope you are inspired with my tutorial and comeback soon to share with us!
Enjoy, Martha Lucia

Floral Treasure Chest by Steph Ackerman
Floral Treasure Chest
Designed by Steph Ackerman
Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a treasure chest.Supplies:
Makin's Clay® - Yellow, White, Green, Blue, Red
Makin's Clay® Push Mold - Florals
Earth Safe Finishes Ann Butler Designs Iridescents - Sheer Silver, Sheer Copper
Earth Safe Finishes Ann Butler Designs Iridescent Powder Kit - Silver, Yellow
ColorBox® Crafter's for Ann Butler - Sunshine, Limelight, Deep Woods
ColorBox® Background Basics for Ann Butler - Checks1
Flowers - Bazzill
Wood Box
Rhinestones
Using the Florals mold, create assorted leaves using green clay and assorted flowers using yellow clay.Once the roses have been removed from the mold, paint them with Sheer Silver Iridescents, then sprinkle with Yellow Iridescent Powder. The roses take on a wonderful sparkle. Check out how different the roses look when the Iridescent Powder is added.

I created purple clay by mixing red and blue clays until I had the color I liked. Then, using the Floral
push mold, I created two corner flourishes. After they were removed form the mold, I painted them with Sheer Silver Iridescents.
Lightly white wash the box, then stamp around the edges with Sunshine Crafter's Ink and the Basket 1 stamp.
To age the box, use Crafter's Ink Deep Woods around the edges, then use a baby wipe to remove and blend some of the color.Add 3 large and 2 small yellow roses to the front of the box. Adhere lace around the lid.
Adhere the purple flourishes to the corners and yellow flowers to the center. An assortment of dew
drops finishes the edges.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Steph

Ivory Borders Vase by Madeline Arendt
Ivory Borders Vase
Designed by Madeline Arendt
Materials:
Makin's Clay® - Natural
Makin's Push Mold - Borders
Makin's Clay Mat
Makin's Professional Ultimate Clay Extruder™ and Round Disc #4
Makin's Cutting Blade
Ann Butler's Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents - Sheer Gold Pearl
Beacon Adhesive 3-in-1Glue
Glass Container
Instructions:
- Roll small portions of clay into a rope shape and press into the mold. Repeat this step to make enough clay border strips that will cover the container. NOTE: Either the same border design can be used for all pieces or choose two different designs to alternate on the glass
- Allow the clay strips to dry well for 24 hours.
- Use the cutting blade tool to clean away any clay flash that shows on the edges of the strips.
- Paint each of the pieces with the iridescent paint. Let dry.
- Glue the clay strips onto the glass container, making sure to line up the top of the strips evenly around the upper edge of the container. Place and press each strip close together, side to side. NOTE: If the container has any curves, press the strips into them to follow the contours.
- Place clay into the Ultimate Clay Extruder™ with circle disc #4. Extrude a length of clay to fit around the bottom edge of the container. Allow piece to dry. Paint, trim and glue around the bottom edge to finish.
SUGGESTION: The glass container used for this project was the same height as the length of the borders of the push mold. If using a taller container, more clay pieces would have to be formed. When applying them to the surface of the container a varied, random pattern could be used for a different look.
