Summer Seashell ATC's by Martha Lucia Gomez

Summer Seashell ATC's
Designed by Martha Lucia Gomez
Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here with you. Today I want to share a collection of ATC, or Artistic Trading Cards, that I made using Summer as a theme. For these I created beautiful embellishments using White Makin's Clay®.

Product list:
Instructions:

The first step is creating the embellishments for your ATC's. For this take small amounts of white Makin's Clay® and smooth it with your hands. If you want you can do it with the roller too. Take the Sea Shells Push Mold and press the clay into the each design starting in the center and working toward the edges. Remove the excess clay and either gently bend your mold to lift your tools free while the clay is fresh, or let the clay dry in the mold then remove.

Remove them from the mold when the clay is fresh or when it has dried. The flexibility of the push mold allows you to remove them easily both ways.  When they are dry, sand or cut the excess of clay from the borders with scissors. Now it is time to give color to these. In this opportunity I used Iridescents Paints from Ann Butler Designs in six different colors. These paints dried very quickly and gave me a beautiful shine.

Now that my embellishments are ready is time to create the ATC's bases. For this I used a Very Vanilla card stock and Island Indigo Card stock. I stenciled the entire very vanilla layer using a medium size stencil called Enchanted Vine from Rebecca Baer Inc. with different colors of Fireworks from Imagine Crafts. Then I cut the very vanilla layer using THIS TEMPLATE and pasted over the card bases that I cut with the same template using Island Indigo Card Stock. To finalize the ATC's I stamped different sentiments from KellyCraft's™ Jimbo Lojik™ collection over the decorated layer and then pasted the embellishments using Beacon™ 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue.

This is a very simple idea that you can use as inspiration because we have a lot of molds to choose from, and you can create your ATC's with any other theme and make something special for your swaps or journals. I hope you are inspired with my tutorial and comeback soon to share with us!
Thank you for stopping by today!

See you soon, Martha Lucia

Floral Wall Hook by Irit Shalom

FLORAL WALL HOOK
Designed by Irit Shalom

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Makin's Clay® post! Today I am going to share an altered/recycled project that became a lovely home deco piece.  I have this wall hanger for ages and I don't really like the cheap look of paper over it, also the roses are pretty. So with some work and some Makin's Clay® I made a hanger that I do like and will use on my wall.

Materials:

Makin's Clay® - Terra Cotta, Brown, Olive, White
Makin's® Ultimate Clay Machine™
Makin's® Texture Sheet Set D
Makin's® Clay Tools
Makin's Professional® Clay Tool Set
Makin's® Leaves Push Mold
Wall hook
Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents paints
Beacon™ Tacky Glue
Honecomb die, die cutting machine
Chipboard

Step by step instructions:

1.Roll 20 gram of Terra Cotta and 20 gram of Brown Makin's Clay® together to create a "log". Flatten it slightly with clay roller for use in the Ultimate Clay Machine™.

2. Use your Ultimate Clay Machine™ on setting #2 and make a mix that imitates wood. It should be the hanger size, around 3x4''.

3. Use clay roller from the tool set and wood grain texture from Texture Sheet Set D  over this piece.

4. Cut the textured clay with straight cutting tool from Makin's Clay Professional clay tools set to fit the hanger as shown. Glue the clay " wood" over the hanger with Tacky Glue.

5. Use Leaves push mold , the roller and olive green Makin's Clay to make some leaves .

6. Use flower and bee molds to make 2 big flower and 2 bees with white clay. I used some Russian molds that
work perfect with Makin's clay.Let then dry and trim the edges if needed.

7. Paint the leaves and flowers with Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents paints. Those paints are Gel Medium based and leave fantastic shiny look over
Makin's Clay shapes. The only problem is that this paint has a very long drying time, not minutes, but even hours.

8. And now  for the finished project! I added a heat embossed chipboard honeycomb die cut on the back and arranged those leaves, flowers and bees.

Close up to the shapes- can't show the shine on those photos, but it looks gorgeous.

Makin's Clay® Groovy Flower Earrings

Whenever I’m working with Makin’s Clay® and have leftover clay after I finish my project, I either use that clay with a Makin’s Brand® push mold to make flowers or other pieces for use later, or I roll it to at least a #7 setting on my Makin’s Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine (I roll some to a #8, some to a #9 - so I will have random thicknesses to work with) and let it dry to be die cut or punched for later use.    I love having a stash of pre-prepared Makin’s Clay® goodies ready for use for projects at any time. - Cindi

Materials:

Makin’s Clay® - Natural
Makin’s Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine
Flower punch
Small hole punch
Beacon Adhesives 527 Multi-Use Glue
Connie Crystal - 8 yellow, 4 green crystals
Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents by Ann Butler Designs - Sunshine, Limelight, Tangelo, Lilac, Berry

Instructions:

Punch out several (at least 6) flowers from sheet of dry Makin’s Clay® (any light color - Natural clay rolled to a #7 for these flowers).

Place onto scrap paper, use fingers to apply Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents by Ann Butler Designs randomly onto front and back of each flower.  I wanted to achieve a bit of a “tie dyed” effect so I let my shades overlap and blend into each other somewhat.  Let dry.

Punch small hole in end of one petal of each flower.  Add silver jump ring.

Use Beacon Adhesives 527 Multi-Purpose Glue to add a yellow or green Connie Crystal to the center of each side of each flower.  Let dry.

Cut two pieces of three links from silver chain.   Add one flower to each link.  Add silver french wires.

Makin's Clay Bangle Bracelet

While at the CHA Mega Show we did several Make and Take projects showcasing Makin's® Clay in different projects.  Doing Make and Takes is one way to show attendees the properties of Makin's® Clay and how easy it is to use in creating projects.

On the first day of the show we created Makin's Clay® Bangle Bracelet's

In this photo Beth is showing how easy this bracelet is to make.

First we painted the DIY Bangle with Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents and while that was drying
Makin's Clay was rolled out to about 1/8" then a Texture sheet was used to add dimension.
Next a cutter of choice was used to create the shape;
these were then glued onto the bangle with Beacon Adhesives Tacky Glue......

Another Quick and Easy project!
