Instructions:

Using the Florals mold, create assorted leaves using green clay and assorted flowers using yellow clay.


Once the roses have been removed from the mold, paint them with Sheer Silver Iridescents, then sprinkle with Yellow Iridescent Powder.  The roses take on a wonderful sparkle.  Check out how different the roses look when the Iridescent Powder is added.



I created purple clay by mixing red and blue clays until I had the color I liked.  Then, using the Floral
push mold, I created two corner flourishes.  After they were removed form the mold, I painted them with Sheer Silver Iridescents.

Lightly white wash the box, then stamp around the edges with Sunshine Crafter's Ink and the Basket 1 stamp.

To age the box, use Crafter's Ink Deep Woods around the edges, then use a baby wipe to remove and blend some of the color.

Add 3 large and 2 small yellow roses to the front of the box.  Adhere lace around the lid.

Adhere the purple flourishes to the corners and yellow flowers to the center.  An assortment of dew
drops finishes the edges.

And there you have a treasure chest that can hold lots of amazing items.  With Mother's Day coming up, I think this would be a lovely gift for Mom.

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with a fun project using Makin's Clay® products and glass bottles. Have you seen the  Makin's Clay®'s Pinterest board?  It's full of a wide variety of amazing projects.  Some of those projects are Bottles of Hope and I'd love to share how I created mine.

Note - Here is a bit more information about what Bottles of Hope are - Makin's Clay® is proud to have our designers supporting this worthy effort through the creation of Bottles of Hope featuring Makin's Clay®.  

Bottles of Hope are small glass bottles covered with polymer clay and given to cancer patients. They symbolize a wish and a hope for health.  This project was started in 1999 by a Rhode Island cancer survivor and has spread internationally. Bottles are made by artists, students, survivors, seniors and many more who volunteer their time and love.   Learn more about this worthwhile project, see a gallery of many creative bottles and more here on their website.

Instructions:

I began by pulling out about 1/3 package of white clay.  Remember to place the remaining clay in a sealed bag with a damp paper towel or moist towelette to keep it fresh for another project.

Kneed the clay gently.  It will be soft and pliable right out of the package.


Place the clay on the glass and work it around the glass with your fingers.  You don't need a very thick layer so work the clay until the glass is covered.  Don't worry about finger/nail marks as that is what makes the project unique and gives it character.

Makin's Clay® air dries in about 24 hours so you have lots of time to work on your glass.  I  sprinkled on assorted colors of Iridescent Powders.  Using a baby wipe I easily moved the powders around on the clay creating some interesting patterns.

Next, I added some die cut elements to the bottles and adhered clay flowers and shells on top.  The flower was left over from this project and the shells were left over from this project and they were the perfect elements to finish off my bottles.

To add shimmer to the "older" clay pieces, I used a baby wipe to add Iridescent Powders.  The baby wipe wet the clay just enough to add the powders.  The Iridescent Powders really provide a nice shimmer and shine.

Tie ribbons around the neck to finish.

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Makin's Clay® post! Today I am going to share an altered/recycled project that became a lovely home deco piece.  I have this wall hanger for ages and I don't really like the cheap look of paper over it, also the roses are pretty. So with some work and some Makin's Clay® I made a hanger that I do like and will use on my wall.

Materials:

Makin's Clay® - Terra Cotta, Brown, Olive, White
Makin's® Ultimate Clay Machine™
Makin's® Texture Sheet Set D
Makin's® Clay Tools
Makin's Professional® Clay Tool Set
Makin's® Leaves Push Mold

Step by step instructions:


1.Roll 20 gram of Terra Cotta and 20 gram of Brown Makin's Clay® together to create a "log". Flatten it slightly with clay roller for use in the Ultimate Clay Machine™.

2. Use your Ultimate Clay Machine™ on setting #2 and make a mix that imitates wood. It should be the hanger size, around 3x4''.

3. Use clay roller from the tool set and wood grain texture from Texture Sheet Set D  over this piece.




4. Cut the textured clay with straight cutting tool from Makin's Clay Professional clay tools set to fit the hanger as shown. Glue the clay " wood" over the hanger with Tacky Glue.

5. Use Leaves push mold , the roller and olive green Makin's Clay to make some leaves .

6. Use flower and bee molds to make 2 big flower and 2 bees with white clay. I used some Russian molds that
work perfect with Makin's clay.Let then dry and trim the edges if needed.

7. Paint the leaves and flowers with Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents paints. Those paints are Gel Medium based and leave fantastic shiny look over
Makin's Clay shapes. The only problem is that this paint has a very long drying time, not minutes, but even hours.








8. And now  for the finished project! I added a heat embossed chipboard honeycomb die cut on the back and arranged those leaves, flowers and bees.


Close up to the shapes- can't show the shine on those photos, but it looks gorgeous.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Back in 1975, we had been to Shelby Forest State Park near Memphis, spending the day with our four-year-old son Michael, jumping in leaves, fishing and just enjoying a beautiful autumn afternoon. On the way home, we passed a field covered in soft cream-colored grass. My hubby, who was just learning to use his new 35mm camera, took Michael out in the middle of the field and shot almost an entire roll of film. Every photo was terrific, but this one has always been my favorite.

I used a combination of Makin’s Clay® and Ann Butler’s Earth Safe Finishes Irridescents to make this canvas come to life.

Instructions

1.Place the Makin’s® Cutting Mat on your work surface. Roll out ½ package of brown Makin’s Clay® to a slab beginning on setting #1 and ending on setting #4 on the Ultimate Clay Machine™.

Run 1/3 of the slab back through the machine on setting #2 with each of the three texture sheets attached. Set aside to dry with the texture sheet left attached. It will pop off when dry.  When dry, cut the textured pieces with the Sizzix Tattered Leaves die and apply Ann Butler Iridescent Paint and Powders to all the pieces.

Use the push mold to create pine cones and acorn with the remaining brown clay, and the Ultimate Clay Extruder™ to make vines with green clay. Set all aside to dry overnight.

2. Apply acrylics glazes to the canvas with a foam brush, remove some with a crushed paper towel and allow it to dry.

3. Spritz the canvas edges with Mudslide Colorbox Spritzer Dye Ink Spray and lightly brush with a foam brush.

Place the grass stencil on the canvas and use the palette knife to apply the Golden Heavy Gel. Allow to dry. Apply additional stencils as desired and allow to dry until clear.

4. Sponge gesso lightly over the dandelions and apply Ann Butler Craft Ink in Limelight directly to the grass and denadelion stems.

5. Use small stencils to apply gesso and Ann Butler inks with a sponge.

6. Cut the frame edges from Corrugate Tape, mitering the corners if desired and sponge the inner and outer edges with Tangelo ink.

7. Ink the corners of the photo paper where the Craft Corrugate will meet with Desert Sand ink to hide any imperfections Remove the release paper from the Craft Corrugate and apply it to the photo.

8. Attach the frame and photo to the canvas with Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive.

9. Attach the vines to the canvas with Beacon 3-in-I Adhesive.

10. Attach the silk leaves to the canvas with Beacon 3-in-I Adhesive.

11 Attach the clay leaves to the canvas with Beacon 3-in-I Adhesive.

12. Attach the pine cones and acorns to the canvas with Beacon 3-in-I Adhesive.

Add the purchased frame and place it on an easel. What a beautiful addition to your holiday décor!
