Makin's Clay® Design Team Call

We have some EXCITING news to share! 


Makin's Clay® is in the process of building our 1st ever Design Team 
and we would love to have you apply. 

Now for the details:

What We Expect From Our Design Team:
  • Provide at least one blog post per month posted on the Makin's Clay® blog using Makin's Clay® products, complete with photos (optional video), easy to follow project instructions, and links to products.
  • One blog post per month on your own blog using Makin's Clay® products with links to products used.
  • Add a Makin's Clay® Design Team Logo to your blog for the duration of the 12 month term. Participate and help promote all activities presented by Makin's Clay®, including blog hops and challenges. 
  • Promote your fellow Design Team Members projects that use Makin's Clay® products. 
  • Post your projects on our Makin's Clay® Pinterest board.
  • Join our private Facebook Group where we will share information, ideas, etc. with our Design Team.
Design Team term will be 12 months, beginning March 1, 2015 to February 28, 2015

What you can expect from Makin's Clay®:
  • Makin's Clay® products to design with along with products from partnering companies.
  • Endorsement fees may be available for DT members who have designs published in print.
  • Link to your blog on the Makin's Clay® blog along with social media coverage for your posted projects.
  • Compensation for projects chosen to be used in the Makin's Clay® Show Booths.
How to Apply:

If you are interested in applying for our Design Team please email us at:

Put Makin's Clay Design Team in the subject line.

Include the following information (please copy and paste the information into your email). 
  • Send us three clear photos of your favorite project designs that you feel will best represent your style; these do not have to showcase Makin's Clay® products; they can include any products. 
  • Your name, address, phone number and email address.
  • Links to your blog and any other social media sites - Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.
  • A short bio of yourself - Have you been published, worked on another design team, do you teach any classes?  Please note: these are not a requirement to be on the team.
  • Tell us your preferred area of design: cards, scrapbooking, mixed media, fabric arts, etc?
  • Why do you want to be part of the Makin's Clay® Design Team?

Deadline to Apply: February 2, 2015  Midnight CST 

We will review all applicants information after the deadline and the new Design Team will be notified on or about February 15, 2015
Announcement of the Design Team will be made March 2, 2015. 

We look forward to putting the first ever Makin's Clay® Design Team together and we hope that you will be joining us on this brand new adventure!

Valentine Treat Mason Jar

This Valentine Treat Mason Jar was one of our make & take projects featured at CHA in Anaheim.   Today we are sharing the instructions for making the jar.


Create a unique Valentine keepsake treat jar for  someone special this year with Makin’s Clay® & Buckle Boutique Rhinestone accents.

Materials:

Mason jar 
Makin’s Clay® - Brights Multi-Pack, White Clay 120g (www.makins-usa.com
                    - Ultimate Clay Machine® 
                         - Ultimate Clay Extuder®
                         - Hearts Push Mold
                         - Crinkle Cutter Set 
                 - Texture Sheets 
                 - Professional Clay Tools
The Buckle Boutique™ Self-Adhesive Rhinestones (www.thebuckleboutique.com
Beacon® Tacky Glue (www.beaconadhesives.com
JudiKins™ Script Rubber Stamp (www.judikins.com
Clearsnap® Crafter’s Ink - Red (www.clearsnap.com) 
Designed by Cindi Bisson - Behind These Eyes™
Instructions:
  1. Mix small amount of red clay (approximately 1/4” ball) with enough white clay to cover jar lid  (approximately 1/4 of 120g package) to create pink.
  2. Roll pink clay in Ultimate Clay Machine™ to #3 setting. 
  3. Ink script stamp with red permanent ink - stamp into rolled pink clay. 
  4. Using jar lid as a template, use clay tool to cut circle from stamped clay.
  5. Place tacky glue on top of lid, apply stamped clay, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. Roll small amount of red clay to setting #4 on clay machine.
  7. Texture rolled red clay, cut with heart crinkle cutter. Use tacky glue to mount heart to center of lid. 
  8. To create push molded heart shown, place green clay in leaf areas, red in roses, white in bottom of heart and pink in top of heart as shown.  
  9. Mount molded heart to center of red heart. 
  10. Cut self-adhesive rhinestones and mount around outside of jar lid.
  11. Extrude white clay into fine strands.  Twist strands and use tacky glue to mount to outside edge of jar lid. 
  12. Add two rhinestone accents to center of roses, using tacky glue to hold in place. 
  13. Cut strip of self-adhesive rhinestones and mount around outside of jar lid.

Fill with candy, cookies, flavored coffees, a small stuffed animal, or another special treat and present it to someone special!
