Tools and Materials:

Makin's Clay® - White

Makin's Professional® Cutting Mat

Makin's® clay roller 

Leaves

Wooden cube

Tea light candle

Water colors

Paint brushes 

Remove the clay from the packaging.  Any clay you are not using put into a plastic bag with a zipper top, add a damp paper towel or a moist towelette to keep the clay fresh for later use. 

Roll out the clay about 2-3mm thick to cover the cube on all but one side.  Cut the rest of the clay. 

Place leaves on each of the 4 sides except for the bottom.  Press them well

Take watercolours in fall shades and paint each side in a different shade. You may also add some details if wanted, I did so with the berries for one of the leaves.  

Once dried a bit, take off the leaves and colour the leaves.  Let it dry well.

Leave it dry for at least 24 hours, then extract the cube = that was the most difficult part))) Colour the inside if wanted.  

Place the candle inside.  Most likely it will be too deep for it, so put some foil or something else in the cube.  Then place the candle.  Make as many as you wish and enjoy the fall days.

Tools and Materials:

Makin's Clay® white and red 
Makin's Professional® cutting mat
Makin's Professional® Ultimate Clay Extruder®
Clay machine or a roller
Blade
White acrylic paint
Paint brushes
Superglue
Cardboard coaster 
Round Cutter
Brown and blue chalk pastels
Plastic bag

Instructions:

Take some white Makin's Clay® out of the package and roll out a thin sheet either with a roller or a clay machine. Place the rest of the clay in a zip lock bag with a wet paper towel or moist towelette inside. Cut out a shape for the light house with the help of the blade.  For the clay not sticking to the blade, use a plastic bag that you place over the clay.

This is what we get. The shape could differ. 

Apply some water with a brush over the base.

Extrude white and red threads with the help of Makin's Professional® Ultimate Clay Extruder®.

Place threads over the base white, red, white, red, alternating as shown. 

Once you get near the top, make a white thread kind of twisted at the ends.

Cut a circle about 2.5 cm from white clay. Use a plastic bag again for the clay not to 

stick to the cutter. Cut off about a third and place as a topper part of the lighthouse.

Take another piece of white clay and add some brown chalk pastel powder. Do not mix it much, we do not want a solid color. 

Make small balls of different sizes and place them at the bottom of the lighthouse.  These will serve as the stones.  

You may add some texturing with a rounded tool for the stones to fit better.  Do not forget to brush some water to help adhere the fresh clay to the lighthouse. 

Add some shading to the upper part of the lighthouse.

I have some leftovers from another project (Shabby Chic Box) – this is white clay coloured with blue chalk pastel with a gradient. I kept in a zip lock and now can use it for this project.  I just flatten in and rip off a bit, the ripped edge will mimic the waves.

Place those pieces overlapping each other at the bottom of the lighthouse.  

Add some windows.
Let it dry for at least 24 hours.

Take a cardboard coaster and cover it with white acrylic paint.  Let it dry.  Write whatever you would like for a phrase.  

Once dried, glue the lighthouse to the coaster.  Your little motivation board is ready!

 

One Fish, Two Fish, Many Fish

Floral Texture Pendant Mold

Makin's Clay® is absolutely great for making textures. It is great for making re-usable texture sheets, and also for molds like this one. It is easy and gives super results. 

Tools and Materials

Makin's Clay® white 

Makin's® Round cutter (4cm)

Makin's Professional® cutting mat

Roller

Mini floral stamps (I have made mine myslef) 

Plastic bag

Soft drink or beer can 

Take out some Makin's Clay® out of the bag.  Put any remaining clay in a plastic bag with a wet wipe and close it, so that no air can get in.  That way will be fresh for use later.

Roll out the clay about 4-5 mm wide.

 

Place a plastic bag over the clay and cut a circle with a Makin's® round cutter.

Take that circle in the bottom of the can – mine is full, it makes it more stable to work on.

 

I am using my own floral stamps.

Texture the clay with small flower stamps.

Leave it to dry for at least 24 hours. 

Once completely dry, you can use your mold with Makin's Clay®, or with oven baked as well.

Makin's® push molds

Pasta-machine or a roller

Chalk pastels (blue, pink, yellow)

White acrylic paint

Paint brushes

Rounded tool

PVA glue

Superglue

Cardboard from the tape roll 

Two cardboard coasters 

Plastic bag or foil

Remove some white clay from the wrapping.  Add some blue chalk powder to it.  Keep in mind two things:  the clay you are not using at the moment is kept in a plastic bag with a wet tissue inside, and, do not add too much colour, as it will get darker, once the clay dries. Mix in the chalk powder well.

Make a snake.

Place it in the mold “rope” and then take out ropes in the amount needed.

Take the cardboard ring from the tape roll and cover it with PVA glue.

Attach the ropes side by side to cover the cardboard ring. 

Add some more blue chalk powder in some places to emphasize the curves.

Now add some blue chalk powder to another piece of white clay, mix well and form a triangle.  Make a white triangle as well.  We will make a graduated blend.

Run through the pasta-machine, fold and run again, repeat till you have a blend.

It took me 4-5 times to get it the way I wanted.

Make a thinner ribbon out of the blend. 

Then run it through a thinner setting of the PM, then one more setting thinner, till you get a thin and long ribbon.

Fold it like this.

 

Form a drop out of a cube, where white is either the sharp end, or the opposite, whichever you prefer.

Cut small slices. Do not worry if it distorts, you can fix it on the mat.  I place a piece of plastic bag over it and spread it to a petal shape I wish.

Then take a rounded tool, it could be a stylus, and make some veins/riffles through the plastic bag, start somewhere in the middle of the petal and go to sides and the upper part. 

Add some shadowing with chalk powder.

Place a piece of blue clay (the same one we used for petals) in a can bottom or a spoon.  

Brush some water in and place a petal, I chose the bigger ones first.  Press in the middle and shape it as you wish.  Place 4-5 more petals, so the whole layer is filled with petals.

Then brush the middle with water again and add the second layer of petals.  Then add some mini balls using water as an adhesive medium again.

Take two round cardboard coasters and glue them together.  Cover both sides and the edges with white acrylic paint.  

Once dried, both the paint and the clay, add some Super Glue on one edge of the cardboard tape roll covered with clay and attach to the coaster bottom.

Paint the upper edge with acrylic paint as well.  I have also added some white accents on the sides, to make it look a bit older. 

Place the flowers in the amount and place you wish. I use Super Glue to mount them.
