Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you my first card for the fall, my favorite season for the wonderful colors on the leaves and trees, without counting the temperature. With Makin's Clay® you can create some amazing elements for this season.

Supplies:

Makin's Clay® - White and Earth Tones -
                         - Makin's Professional Ultimate Clay Machine
                         - Makin's Professional Cutting Mat
                         - Makin's Clay Roller and Cutters Set

Sizzix® - Big Shot™ Die Cut Machine
              - Bigz Leaves #2
Birch Tree Embossing Folder by Darice®
Cardstock by Stampin Up®
Fireworks by Imagine Crafts
Quick Grip by Beacon Adhesives
Staz-On™ or Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Instructions:

1. Mix a small amount of white clay with your hands. Using the clay roller, roll out the clay until the ball is flat. Pass the already flat surface through the Ultimate Clay Machine™ in setting number 3 to create a flat and uniform surface. Using the Cutter tool and a ruler, create a rectangle. This will be the main layer of your card. Make another little rectangle to stamp your sentiment later and keep it aside.

2. Put the white layer you created inside the birch tree embossing folder. Pass the roller gently over the embossing folder and open the folder to see how deep the embossing is. If you want you can add more pressure.








3. Mix two tones of clay from the Earth tones packages and create a thin layer using the roller. This layer doesn't need to be perfect because once it is dry you can use it to pass through the Big Shot with the Bigz die Leaves.

4. Note that I mixed my clay in different forms to create different results on the leaves. Also, I mixed different amounts of each color of clay to create different tones on the leaves.

5. When you finish the leaves, paste these over the white surface created in steps 1 and 2. If the clay is fresh, these will paste naturally, if not you can add some water drops to your leaves. Let the decorated piece dry almost 24 hours.


6. Stamp your sentiment in the little rectangle that you created in step 1 using Staz On or Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used Green Staz On.

 7. When this piece is completely dry, paste over a piece of card stock using the Quick Grip Adhesive. Let's dry for a few minutes and sprayed the entire piece with Fireworks to give a little sparkly and shimmery effect.

8. Paste this decorated layer over the card base using a hard adhesive.

I really like how easy it is to work with Makin's Clay® to create a wide variety of projects. For card makers like me, I find that the clay does not add much bulk and gives me the possibility to make different things and explore techniques that I love. Thanks for stopping by today! Martha Lucia --

Makin's Clay® is a product I love to use on my scrapbook layouts.  Clay?  Yes, clay.  Makin's Clay® is a lightweight, air dry polymer clay.  It is acid-free and safe for scrapbooking.  It's flexible when dried, and when rolled thin can be craft punched or die cut.  I love to texture it with their texture sheets, stamp it when wet to create unique embellishments, or stamp it when dry too.  Often I create embellishments with their push molds.  Makin's Clay® can be colored with a number of different colorants and finishes to create shimmering effects, glossy effects, and more.   While I haven't whipped out my Makin's Clay® and used it on a layout in recent months, I have used it a number of times in the past.  Here are a few pages highlighting various ways to add Makin's Clay® to your pages.  - Cindi Bisson
