MAKIN'S® EMBROIDERY HOOP
Designed by Patricia Krauchune
I
was at a yard sale a few weeks ago and saw this cute little embroidery hoop and
thought, "what can I do with that outside the box"?. So I bought it,
got home and came up with this idea. And the new Makin's® Square Pattern Roller
really worked well for this application!
We also think this would make for an amazing wedding cake idea! An embroidered cake! Makin's® tools work great with fondant and gum paste too!

Instructions:
Using the Makin's Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine®,
roll out the white clay on the #1 setting.
The new Makin's® Square Pattern Roller gives the clay a neat "fabric" appearance.
When the clay is dry, trim around the hoop with a
craft knife then glue the clay onto the hoop with Beacon's™ Tacky Glue.
Push some white clay into the Floral mold to form some leaves and
flowers. Let dry.
I made six flowers and seven leaves. I then used a craft knife to trim away any
excess clay.
The leaves got their color from a mixture of
alcohol inks mixed into some Diamond Glaze™.
The flowers were painted in colors that pleased me... I used: white/red/yellow/petunia
/purple/concord grape/wild iris.
The flowers and leaves were then arranged on the clay
"fabric" and glued in place using Beacon's™ Tacky Glue.
I extruded some green clay using the Makin's
Professional® Ultimate Clay Extruder® and used the Disc item # 35055 # 1 to
form some embroidery thread. Then the
"thread" was cut into small pieces and using Krazy® Glue attached to
the background.
Here it is all finished and ready to give to your
favorite needle crafter.
Anything is possible using Makin's Clay® and your
imagination!
