Charlotte the Spider by Darleen Bellan |
Supplies:
Makin's Clay® - Black
Makin's Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine®
Sculpting tool Artificial eyes
Chenille stems in black
Glass or plastic ball ornament
Crystal flower or bow
Acrylic paints
Clear drying adhesive
Instructions:
Use Ultimate Clay Machine® to roll several sheets of black clay, starting on setting #1 and ending on #2.
Cover the ornament with the sheets of clay, smoothing seams with damp fingers.
Store any unused clay in an airtight container with a moist towelette or damp paper towel for later use.
Create an oval shape about 1 1/2" with black clay, flattens lightly to create head and mount to ornament for head.
Fresh clay sticks to fresh clay without additional adhesive. Moisten slightly if needed to adhere.
Set in eyes and sculpt out an expressive face with clay tools.
Attach four smaller half rounds to sides and put a hole in these to insert chenille stem ends (these will be the legs). Add clear drying adhesive and insert legs.
Adhere bow with clear drying adhesive.
Use acrylic paint to enhance your spider. I used glitter paint on the body. Set her out to enjoy!
