STAMPED HEART PENDANTS
By Martha Lucia Gomez
Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a great idea using Makin's Clay® to create pendants, or any other stamped element, that you can wear or use because the imagination doesn't have any limits. In today's project I decided to create pendants to be tied on leather cords and used as necklaces. But you can use the same elements as bookmarks, key chains or ending points in a zipper. This project was inspired by this stamped clay star pendant project from our Makin's Clay® Tutorials & Techniques Pinterest Board.
Supplies:
- Makin's Clay® - White Makin's® Roller and Cutters Set
- Makin's® Professional Cutting Mat
- Makin’s Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine®
- Heart Framelits or Die Cuts
- Sizzix® Big Shot
- Stamps
- StazOn Ink - St. Valentine and Blue Hawaii
- Leather Cord
Instructions:
1. Open the package of the White Makin's Clay® and smooth with your hands and roller. Create a thin layer of clay using the Ultimate Clay Machine™. I rolled mine to setting #3. With this layer you will create all your pendants and embellishments, if you want these thicker, just setting your machine to a lower number. Let clay dry for 24 hours.
2. Using the framelits or die cuts, cut the the forms that you want to use for your pendants. I decided to create hearts but you can create any form.
3. Select the images that you want to stamp over the forms created with clay and stamp on it using StazOn. I stamped mine on both sides, using the same color on both faces.
4. Let the stamped hearts dry for a few hours before punching the hole to pass the leather cord. If you want you can ink the borders too to create a contrast. You will note this on the red hearts. Here are some photos with other details of the stamped designs.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and this inspiring you to create your own embellishments to use in your different creations and crafting projects. To see more about how I use Makin's Clay in my projects visit my blog here. See you soon!
