Wings Mixed-Media Canvas

Wings Mixed-Media Canvas by Steph Ackerman

Hi everyone, Steph here today with a fun mixed media canvas.

Supplies:

The Crafter's Workshop Stencil
Canvas
Gesso
Prima Molds
Whisker Graphics Twine

Instructions:

Place white Makin's Clay® in the molds creating an assortment of wings, keys and locks.  Put aside
the extras for future projects.

Use VersaMagic Purple Hydrangea Ink to ink a pair of wings.  With the detailing on the wings, you can achieve a great effect.

Use Brilliance Galaxy Gold and Cosmic Copper on the lock and key.

Paint an 6" x 6" canvas with black gesso.  Once dry,  place a stencil on top and use Creative Medium in Silver, Gold and Purple to add color and texture.  Creative Mediums are creamy pastes that are beautiful and striking on dark backgrounds.

Once the canvas dries, place the elements until you are happy with the layout.   Then begin gluing them in place.  Glue the wings to the canvas leaving some space between them.  Next, add the lock on top.  Tuck tiny flowers in the space between the wings.

Place the key in the opposite corner, tying them together with twine.

Dab and blend the 3 colors of Creative Mediums around the edges of the canvas creating a metallic effect.

Thanks for stopping by.
Steph
