Forest Fairie House

Forest Fairie House by Sherri Welser

It is so fun to think that in the forest somewhere is a band of fairies that build their homes in woodsy nooks and crannies! I was inspired by just that thought when creating these fun fairie houses with Makin’s Clay®!

Supply List:

Makin's Clay® - Grape Leaf (60g), Olive (60g), Brown (60g)
Makin's Professional® Cutting Mat
Makin's® Clay Roller
Floral jewelry piece for front door
WelBond Adhesive for the jewelry piece and roof

Instructions:

Roll the Grape Leaf clay into 4 small "logs" to use a a support base for the house.

Using small pieces of Grape Leaf and Olive clay, roll into organically shaped balls to resemble stones.

Stack them in rows on top of each other and build the four walls. On some of the houses,   I began with the Olive and then moved up to the darker green, on others I started with the Grape Leaf and added in the Olive.

I left a small opening for a window and a larger opening for the front door, and built around them.

Use the clay roller to roll Brown clay into a flat roof shape large enough to cover the top of the house.  You can use some texture to roll on the roof to create an organic look.

Put a small crease lengthwise in the roof and set onto the house.

Take a floral jewelry piece the width of the door and place at the bottom to create the effect of the bottom of the door and flowers blooming.

Let dry 24 hours.  Use WelBond to glue roof to top and floral piece in place.

To display, add real moss and place in a fun place and enjoy!
