Snowflake Ornament

Snowflake Ornament by Lisa Haney
Supplies:

Makin’s Clay®

Vineyard Tones – Concord Blue and Natural

Recommended Makin’s® Tools

Other Materials:
EK Success® Snowflake Paper Punches
Beacon™ Tacky Glue
Plastic Ornament

Method:

Create a sheet of blue Makin’s Clay® by running it through the Ultimate Clay Machine® starting with setting #1.  Move the setting of the clay machine up one setting at a time until the clay has been run through the #7 setting.  The sheet should fit around the entire ornament.

This is a plastic, oval-shaped, flat ornament (it looks like a round ball in the picture but I promise, it is flat!)  Take the hanger out of the ornament and wrap the blue clay around it.  Match the seams as close as possible.

Texture the clay by repeatedly pressing the sand texture sheet from the Texture Sheet  Set A all the way around the ornament.  This should help hide air bubbles, fingerprints, and the seams.

Trim the clay away from the opening.

Create a sheet of white clay by running it through the clay machine starting with setting #1.  Move the setting of the clay machine up one setting at a time until the clay has been run through the #7 setting.  Let dry.

Cut out different snowflakes from the white clay using the EK Success® Snowflake Paper Punches.

Glue the snowflakes to the ornament using the Beacon™ Tacky Glue.

Put the hanger back in the ornament and hang it on the tree!
