Then take the very soft white clay out of the package and start a Skinner Blend. You can find instructions on how to do a true Skinner Blend online, or view Ann Butler's video on making "Blended Makin's Clay" on the video page of our blog for a similar technique. Fig 2
Here is a picture of the blend half way through keep going till the colors merge. Fig3
Then roll it up top to bottom of fig 3 pic to make a log to fit into the
Makin’s Ultimate Clay Extruder™ color going light to dark. Fig 4
Note disc used in Fig 5.
Then use the eyelet as a guide to start your disc. I found just a touch of Beacon® Quick Grip glue on the eyelet helps to keep it in place.
This center disc is 2 inches in width. Fig1
The other discs are a solid dark purple clay and 1 set I highlighted with gold mica powder for added interest. Fig 2
Lay all discs flat and let them dry thoroughly about 24 hours.
To Assemble Necklace:
Using the center disc to hold the 2 sides together.
Start with one side and string through center disc and fold in half. Fig 1
Bring the top strand down though the 2nd disc and the bottom strand up through the disc. Cross-cross as you go through the holes and alternate with each new disc. Fig 2.
Then start the SAME order but on the other side.
