Penguin Pendant by Darleen Bellan
Materials:
Makin's Clay® - White
Makin's®

  • Clay Mixing Ruler™
  • Roller & Cutter Set

Makin's Professional® Cutting Mat
Assorted 2 oz. acrylic paints
Small paintbrushes
Base metal pendant/bezel
2mm Black beads

 Instructions:
1. Roll out a small amount of white clay, approx. the thickness of heavy yardstick.
2. Using the largest circular shape “I" on the clay ruler, cut out the shape to apply as the base in the tray into the bezel tray and using a finger, gently press to adhere to pendant tray.
3. Roll a small ball of white clay approx. the size of the  “G” cutter on the ruler and roll this into an egg shape and flatten the back side. Place this into the tray.
4. Using the pointed tool from the set blend the edges of this shape to bond them to the pendant tray. Sculpt a small hat by forming a round ball, cut in half and place on the head of the penguin then make a small snake of clay and flatten it out. Add this for the band.

5. Using the pointed end of the tool again, make 2 small divers for the eye placement and then place the beads on the holes and gently push them into the face.

6. Make a small cone shape and add this for his beak. Again using the pointed tool to blend and bond to the face.

7. Allow to dry overnight and then paint!
