Key to My Heart with Makin's Clay® by Sherri Welser |
Working with clay is
always fun but, what I love about Makin’s Clay® is it is easy to work with and
requires no baking! It is soft to mold and comes in a bunch of colors, plus you can
blend and create your own colors! I am a jewelry artisan and love to create
jewelry so my design team project is a heart necklace.
Supplies:
Makin's Clay® - Persimmon from Earth Tones Set
Makin's® Texture Sheet Set H - Coils
Bezel - heart shaped, approximately 2 x 3"
Crystal focal bead
Staz-On Ink Pad - Cappuccino
Rust texture paste
24" Ball chain, jump ring and closure
Clear drying adhesive
Key charm
Instructions:
Open the package of Persimmon clay and remove enough to fill the bezel you are working with. Store unused clay in an airtight bag or container with a damp paper towel or moist towelette for later use.
Fill the bezel with the clay. Using the "Coils" texture sheet, create an impression on the clay.
Place a small amount of clear drying adhesive onto the crystal focal bead and press into the fresh clay. Let clay dry 24 hours.
When dry, using your finger, rub ink from the pad onto the clay impression to highlight the details.
Using your finger lightly apply the rust texture paste.
Add ball chain, key charm, and closure.
