Brush some Beacon's™ Tacky Glue onto the
tin lid, then drape the rolled out clay over the
tin forming it to cover the lid of the tin. Trim
away excess clay with your craft knife.
I chose to paint the bottom and sides of the tin with black paint but you can just leave it as is, your choice.

Roll some brown clay into a small log. HINT:
place the roll of clay next to the extended
handle of the Makin's Professional® Ultimate
Clay Extruder® to know how much clay will
fit in the barrel of the extruder:(see picture).
Using the rectangular disc, extrude enough
clay to use as a "frame" around the tin lid.
Add the extruded clay to the edges and sides
of the lid using the Beacon's™ Tacky Glue.
Now use the Makin's® Texture Sheet, with the
woodgrain pattern, to give the appearance of
wood to the extruded clay border.
Extrude some light adobe brown clay using the hexagon disc. Let the hexagon extrusion dry for 24 hours.
Paint the dry hexagon piece with yellow paint, then cut into small pieces. These will become pencils.

When the yellow paint is dry, carefully using a
craft knife, "sharpen" the end of the pencil.
Then dab the sharpened end with black marker
to mimic the pencil's lead. Form the eraser on
the other end and paint the eraser a reddish
color. I also added a silver band under the
eraser.
Here's the finished pencil. Add letters or
words of your choice to the pencil.
I lined the inside of the tin with paper glued down with the Beacon's™ Tacky Glue. The two pencils I formed were also glued to the "blackboard" top. Add any other decorations of your choice. I made a small apple with red Makin's Clay®, a little inch worm and added a small metal ruler. Decorate the top of the blackboard with your fun embellishments!
Here you go, a nice little gift for the teacher. There's no end to what you can make with Makin's Clay®...experiment, have fun.
