Medieval Bracelet
Designed by Martha Lucia Gomez
Hi everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you a tutorial on how to make a medieval styled bracelet. The summer is right around the corner and it´s the perfect time to accessorize our outfits. To create my bracelet I selected the brown and turquoise colors, but I only used Makin's Clay® in the Adobe Brown color.Materials:
- Makin's Clay® Adobe Brown
- Roller and Cutter Tool
- Ultimate Clay Machine™
- Large Cutting Mat
- Inka Gold Turquoise
- Inspirations Antique Gold Ink
- Damask Darice Embossing Folder
1. Open the package of the Makin's Clay® Adobe Brown. You will use approximately 45g of this to create your bracelet. Flatten your clay with the hand or with the roller to a thickness slightly greater than the opening between the rollers of the Makin's Clay® Ultimate Clay Machine™. Set your machine in # 2 and pass your clay through it to create the first layer of your bracelet.
2. The size of the layer needs to be minimum 7"x 2". Cut this rectangle using a ruler and cutter tool.
3. Take the embossing folder and put the layer inside. Using the roller, apply a hard pressure over it to create the design over the clay.
4. With the residues or left overs of clay, create a second layer with the same size. You don't need to make any embossing on this layer. Since the clay is fresh, you can put both pieces together and they'll naturally stick. If necessary, you can add some drops of water to paste them. Cut all the excess clay with the cutter tool.
5. Open side to attache the metal clasp. Then give the bracelet form and let it dry for 24 hours.
6. After this time, you can paint the embossing design using Inka Gold and Inspirations Antique Gold. The Inka Gold is water soluble so you can mix it with water before to apply or use concentrate over the bracelet. To apply the Antique Gold Ink you can use a paint brush.
7. Secure your clasp and with this step your bracelet is finished.
Remember that you can use any color of Makin's Clay® for your creations. You can make your own colors and designs. This is only an idea to inspire you. I hope you like it and come back soon to see more creative projects. See you soon!
