What's the buzz tell me what's happening...Pat here with my May-Bee Makin's® project.
Supply List:
Makin’s Clay® - Yellow and Black
- Honeycomb Texture Sheet
Large gear; about 11/2 inches in diameter
16 gauge Copper wire
3 Glass head pins
Small length of ball chain
Metal bead cap
Lisa Pavelka Poly Bonder™
Beacon™ Tacky Glue
DecoArt® Metallic Lustre™ in Gold Rush,
Black Shimmer, Ice Champagne
Small mini screws
Hacksaw to cut gear in half
Instructions:
Cut copper wire to form (2) antennas and (1) bail. Cut (2) of the glass head pins for the eyes and (1) pin with a little longer shaft for attaching the metal bead cap to the end of the bee's body.
Roll out a ball of black and yellow Makin's Clay®.
Next divide each ball of clay in half.
Using the Beacon™ Tacky Glue to secure each segment, stack the balls of clay starting with yellow, then black, yellow and end in black. Shape the body to get a look that is pleasing to you. Roll the body on the Makin's® Honeycomb texture sheet
Insert the bail with a drop of Poly Bonder™ on the end. Add the bead cap to the other end.
Dab a drop of Poly Bonder™ to the pin and push it through the hole in the bead cap to secure.
Now you will attach the antennas to either side of the bail again using the Poly Bonder™.
The eyes are now inserted just above the antennas.
With Poly Bonder™ on the tip of the gear halves, insert them on either side of the body just below the first yellow segment.
Brush some Poly Bonder™ on the seam between each segment. Cut some lengths of ball chain and push them into the glue covered seams.
You can add some mini screws to the segments if you desire.
Using a piece of cloth, dab on some of the Metallic Lustre™ to give the bee an antique look.
Now that's what the buzz is all about!
Thanks for joining me in the explorations of the wonderful world of Makin's Clay®.
