Altered Pencil Box by Steph Ackerman

Altered Pencil Box
Designed by Steph Ackerman

Hi everyone, it's August and the heat is rising more than ever.  This month's challenge is to create a school related project.    Steph Ackerman here today with a fun altered pencil box for a favorite
teacher.

Supplies:

Makin's Clay® - White, Red, Green
                         - Cutting Mat
                         - Push Mold - Fruits
                         - Ultimate Clay Extruder
Earth Safe Finishes Chalk Paint - Cherry Jubilee

Instructions:

Using the Fruit Mold, create assorted leaves with Green clay.  Mix some Green clay with Red clay to

create apples.  The Clay Cutting Mat is the perfect surface for working with clay.
Place Green clay in the Extruder, turn handle until the clay is extruded.

Place a small portion of the extruded clay in the top of the apple

Using a silicone mold and White clay, spell out the teacher's name

Using chalk paint, paint the pencil box and edges of the front panel.

Adhere the apple and leaf to the front panel along with the teacher's name.

Tie a ribbon around the pencils.  Use the extruded clay to wrap around the ribbon and pencils
